The 2025 FEI European Championships at Blenheim Palace were not only a showcase of world-class sport, but also a brilliant celebration of the grooms who make it all possible.

It was fantastic to meet grooms from across Great Britain and around the world, and to share in the positive, supportive atmosphere.

The BGA especially enjoyed meeting grooms at the International Grooms Association (IGA) drinks and chat party, where grooms received a Smart Grooming plaiting kit goodie bags.

One groom commented on how great it was to receive a gift that was not only generous, but genuinely useful:

"Everyone really loves the Smart Grooming goodie bag! It's super useful and we really appreciate how expensive Smart Grooming products are, and they're very good."

BGA member and IGA board member Debbie Carpenter was honoured with the prestigious FEI European Championships Grooms Prize, receiving a hamper of delicious goodies from Blenheim Palace and an Agria Horse First Aid Kit. Debbie said:

“Blenheim did a great job of looking after the grooms this year with gifts and food. Two grooms’ parties and lots of evening entertainment. It’s a great privilege to win this award as well as Badminton this year – perhaps I should retire while I’m on a high! I’m very honoured and would like to thank those who nominated me. I hope my work inspires young grooms.”

Both the BGA and IGA were delighted to see grooms recognised throughout the event – including fast food lanes for groooms in the food tent, mobile catering close to the stables, mentions in commentator notes, names on scoreboards and dedicated parties.

The Devoucoux Lounge, was very welcoming and encouraged grooms to socialise and relax together in the evening.

A huge thank you to the Organising Committee for recognising and celebrating the vital contribution of grooms at this year’s Championships.
